Short biography: As Head of Monitoring at Weidmüller Monitoring System GmbH in Dresden, Germany, Dr. Brenner and his team continuously monitor over 4000 turbine rotors of various manufacturers in different regions and climates. Dr. Brenner studied electrical engineering in Dresden and worked for BMW in Munich during his diploma thesis. He graduated with a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Magdeburg where he studied the lifetime of wind turbine gearboxes. During the last 14 years he has been responsible for the development of condition monitoring methods for wind turbine rotor blades.
