Presentations

Presentations will be held in two conference rooms, Solen and Jupiter. A technician will be available in each room. You can bring your presentation on a USB-stick in the break before your session or email it to abstracts@winterwind.se by February 5 with subject: Solen/Jupiter, presentation date, session time.
Please also contact the session chair in the break before your session.

Supported formats:
Presentation: ppt, pdf
Film: WMW
Sound: MP3, WMA

Posters

Posters will be displayed electronically, on a 32” screen in the conference foyer/exhibition hall. This allows for a presentation with several pages to be displayed. Follow the instructions below to ensure you’re your presentation will be displayed as intended. Before arrival to the conference, prepare your presentation as a ppt/pdf and a folder with exported jpg files. Contact the registration on site. Our technicians will plug in your presentations and make sure everything runs smoothly.

Screen size: 32″
Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (Full HD)
Screen orientation: Horizontal, placed on a table.
Presentation format: 16:9 (do not use 4:3!)
Time for each jpg picture using the USB in the TV: 5 seconds
Number of jpg files in your presentation: Adding sentences or paragraphs one by one to an image equals showing many individual images. That’s perfectly fine. An electronic poster presentation ought not to be longer than 3-5 minutes, which equals 36 to 60 jpg files. A black screen will be shown briefly between each image. The TV’s repeat function will be activated.

At the conference

Please contact the registration desk to receive a USB-stick. Then upload:
1) PDF-presentation for Slideshare
Pdf-version (max size appr 5 MB) of your presentation for the proceedings using a smart name (not Winterwind_2012.pdf) onto a USB memory stick with your poster number, provided to you by the technicians

2) Presentation for poster on site
A folder containing your numbered (use two or three digits, 01-nn or 001-nnn) jpg files. The tech crew will start your presentation. If you purchase the TV, your remote will be handed over to you. Otherwise, you’ve to accept the 5 seconds image pace provided by the TV.

If asked to present on stage: Please be prepared to present a ppt or pdf version of your electronic poster on stage if openings become available in the program. It’s perfectly ok for you to keep the 16:9 format in such an “emergency” case.

Show presentation with computer

It is possible, but not required to show the presentation using your own computer. Please feel free to present your poster using your own computer with a VGA-cable (which you’ve got to bring) or a DVD-player with an HDMI or SCART cable (which you’ve got to bring). Use the repeat function on your device and consider removing all energy saving functions so you don’t have to restart the presentation. We are not able to allow sound but you may of course provide headphones for your listeners pleasure.

How to export powerpoint or pdf to jpg

Presentations have to be saved as a number of JPG files to be displayed. Our recommendation is to create the presentation in pdf or power point format and convert the pages to pictures. In Microsoft Powerpoint, To convert your power point presentation, choose “file” in the menu, click “save as picture”, and save your presentation on a USB-stick. To convert a pdf presentation to JPG files, choose “file” in the menu, click “Export”, choose “JPEG” and save your presentation on a USB-stick.
